If you’re planning your 2015 wedding, then you need to know
about next year’s fantastic wedding flower trends! From bouquets to hair
accessories to venue decoration, we spoke to some of our favorite florists to
find out their hottest flower trends of 2015 – check out what they had to say!
Romantic luxe
Inspired by A-list celebrity weddings such as Kim and Kanye,
next year’s brides are choosing full-on luxury for their wedding flowers. “This
look is all about high flower content,” says expert florist Sabine, of G Lily.
“Avoid foliage and exposed stems – instead, choose romantic blooms like
hydrangea, hyacinths and orchids in creamy pastel colors. This is one for
brides with a big flower budget, otherwise you risk breaking the bank!”
If you want to make an impact with your wedding flowers but
don’t have a Kardashian budget, take a look at Sabine’s suggestions for
surprisingly cheap wedding flowers!
Wild garden
The ‘just-picked-from-the-garden’ look has been popular with
brides throughout 2014, and this gorgeous trend doesn’t look like it’s going
anywhere for the next year!
“Next summer, brides will choose softly-colored blooms that
reflect the gentle tones of the English garden,” says Judith, professional
florist and principal of The Judith Blacklock Flower School. “Instead of
having a massed rose bouquet or other bouquet of one single flower, choose
mixed flowers that look like they could come from the garden.” We love the look
of sweet peas, garden roses and tulips.
Crowning glory
Once reserved for wedding blogs and Pinterest, more and more
brides are now embracing the surprisingly wearable flower crown. “In recent
months, we’ve definitely seen an increase in brides wearing beautiful floral
crowns, and we predict it will continue into 2015,” says Gemma of Passion for
Flowers. “Depending on the overall feel and theme of your wedding, these can be
made from pretty delicate flowers like gypsophila, or a fuller blooms like
roses and hydrangeas for more impact.”
Classic and clean
For every bride who loves the wildflower look, there’s
another who wants a much cleaner, classic bouquet. White and ivory look set to
remain popular throughout 2015, as do traditional blooms like roses and calla
lilies.
“The timeless combination of white and green is still
preferred by many brides, who want a simple, elegant feel to their bouquet,”
says Jen Hollingworth at Flowers by Suzanne.
“Another way they can achieve this is by grouping a single flower variety, for
example ‘Sweet Avalanche’ roses. Using a large number of stems of a single
flower variety is an easy way to create impact while keeping the simplicity.”
Winter wool
Using natural, earthy materials as part of your wedding
bouquet is an unusual trend that’s becoming popular with bohemian brides.
“Incorporating wool products into bouquets as a feature is the latest trend in
Europe, and it’s making its way to the UK,” says Judith. “A wool-wrapped bouquet
looks particularly good in the winter!” We think that shades of ivory and soft
grey would complement a bouquet of white anemones, lamb’s ear and pussy willow.
